ABOUT US

WORKING ON WELLNESS

WOW (Working on Wellness) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering Native youth in New Mexico, especially those from Taos Pueblo, through outdoor adventure, team sports, and hands-on career exploration.

We help Native youth build confidence, community, and skills that last far beyond the playing field.

OUR MISSION

WHY WE EXIST

To give Native youth access to outdoor adventure sports and activities that improve physical and mental health.

We open real pathways into the outdoor industry and build the next generation of leaders, creating space for athletics, connection, and self-discovery along the way.

WHAT GUIDES US

THE PATH WE WALK

Four values shape every program, every ski day, and every relationship we build.

01

Cultural Relevance

Programming designed for and with Indigenous youth — rooted in identity, not adapted to it.

02

Holistic Wellness

Mind, body, spirit, and soul. We support the whole young person, not just the athlete.

03

Access & Opportunity

Removing every barrier — cost, gear, transportation — that stands between a kid and the outdoors.

04

Mentorship & Leadership

Native role models guide growth, responsibility, and the confidence to lead.

OUR TEAM

WHO MAKES IT HAPPEN

A small team and a dedicated board of community leaders, showing up for our youth.
